Thanksgiving Table Runner

Happy holidays everyone! I wanted to pop on here to make a quick post since I’ve been a bit MIA. November has been a crazy month for me, but I absolutely love the holidays! As Thanksgiving is fast approaching, I think of being with family and sharing fun stories of the past. Not to mention the yummy food! I can taste the stuffing and mac and cheese as I’m writing this post :). I wanted to share with you my helix pattern table runner. The helix pattern is comprised of several half square triangles. I cut my solid and printed fabric into 5″ x 5″ squares, then sewed them together to make half square triangles. Each row consisted of 3 different half square triangles. Honestly, I didn’t have a rhyme or reason for the placement of the half square triangles, I just laid them out as I went along. After arranging them, I sewed the rows together to complete my table runner top. Because I wanted a quilted look, I sandwiched my table runner top with batting and the backing fabric. Finally, I quilted a few wavy lines from top to bottom and added bias tape on the edges to complete my table runner! I think I’m officially ready for Thanksgiving!  I hope you all have a wonderful time with family!
